High Tide Oil Company, Inc. is currently hiring for a Safety and DOT Compliance Manager

Job Description:

The Safety and DOT Compliance Manager will ensure that the company is in compliance with all DOT, Federal and State laws and regulations. CM will also be responsible for maintaining OSHA compliance and be knowledgeable of health and safety standards, corporate policies and procedures, best practices and access to additional resources as needed. Must have strong organizational and communication skills.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all safety and federally administered compliance regulations are enforced for equipment, vehicles and employees.
  • Implementing safety policies and procedures and training programs
  • Direct auditing, reporting, safety inspections, administering safety policies, and implementing safety training programs
  • Maintain all fleet and construction employment files; coordinate recertification of commercial driver’s license, physical cards, annual motor vehicle records, endorsements and relevant training
  • Maintain DOT Driver Qualification files, DOT Drug/Alcohol Programs, Vehicle inspections, Hours of Service and other appropriate items that are part of the DOT Compliance program
  • Maintain all vehicle and equipment files and expenses
  • Maintain all vendor relationships within area of responsibility
  • Maintain and submit annual IRP, IFTA, UCR and 2290’s

Jobsite Responsibilities:

  • Direct communication with the Jobsite Superintendent and Foreman to ensure that all regulations and codes are maintained at all times; all equipment meets safety regulations and all equipment and tools are used correctly by employees.
  • Verify all jobsites are equipped with OSHA required safety gear (fire extinguisher, hard hats, gloves, eye wash station, ear plugs and safety glasses).
  • Verifying employees are aware of and knowledgeable of the safety gear and verify gear is utilized as required per OSHA guidelines and requirements
  • Understanding of safety laws, regulations, and language as it relates to state and federal compliance
  • Responsible for coordinating with the Site Superintendent and Foreman to conduct safety audits and implement appropriate changes to correct or comply with regulations/standards.
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines
  • Communication with state and federal personal to formulate corrective actions
  • Designs and maintains training for employees

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Experience with regulatory agencies (DOT, OSHA, etc)
  • Knowledge of FMCSR Regulations
  • Good interpersonal and management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self – motivated and detail oriented
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Intermediate experience with using MS Word and Excel
